Note: Spoilers for Episode 3 of this adventure lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The third episode concluded with a dramatic pause and presented the premier party of adventurers who will split off from the main group to embark on their independent quest, separate from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (played by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), the cleric (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Given an extensive roster, it was evident from the start that having everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
This explains, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before dividing into three smaller tables: Fighters, Planners, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for players who enjoy a traditionally charged battle-oriented story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might seem mismatched, but the events of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, entering the secret base, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to auction.
The traitor then settled his debts and fled to a fortified location in the northern region, north of the city, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to exit Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, wants retribution.
- Kattigan knows the region and cautions that it is a nasty location.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having resisted his family’s wishes to kill Teor and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- However, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could assist the team reach locations they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character pledged a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now accompany him anywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are sought by the authorities that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The cleric turned against the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This results in them no alternative but to journey toward the remote area in pursuit of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we find out that the Soldiers table won’t be around next week, leaving the remaining eight cast members to round up the Questers and Schemers tables.
Audiences can anticipate discovering which players will be in which group in the season’s last Overture episode, released on October 24.
